The sound of music and cheerful voices filled the atmosphere as members of Freetown Bi-Centenary Lodge No. 9302 EC arrived at Milton Margai School for the Blind to extend their annual charitable support to the institution. The delegation received a warm and memorable welcome from the school choir, who greeted them with a beautiful rendition of “It’s a Small World”. The touching performance created an atmosphere of friendship, unity, and goodwill, setting the stage for a meaningful occasion.
The visit formed part of the Lodge’s continued commitment to the Masonic principle of charity and service to humanity. During the ceremony, Freetown Bi-Centenary Lodge presented food items and essential supplies to support the daily needs and wellbeing of the students and the school community.
Addressing the gathering, the District Grand Master of the District Grand Lodge of Sierra Leone and The Gambia, English Constitution, Rt. W. Bro. Emile Moses Charles Carr, expressed his admiration for the work being done at Milton Margai School for the Blind. He commended the management, teachers, and staff for their dedication, patience, and commitment in providing education, care, and support to students with visual impairments.
The District Grand Master encouraged the students to remain focused on their education and personal development, reminding them that their abilities and potential are not defined by their challenges. He praised their courage, determination, and achievements, and assured them that the wider Masonic family recognizes the importance of supporting institutions that empower young people and create opportunities for a brighter future.
He further emphasized that acts of kindness and community support are essential in building a more caring and inclusive society, and expressed his appreciation for the opportunity to visit and interact with the students and staff of Milton Margai School for the Blind.
